Buggs Campground (Buggs) was formed in August 2022 and is in the heart of Caswell County, Yanceyville, NC. The owner, Saundra “Jean” Mobley, is an African American woman who was raised on the land until adulthood. After inheriting family land that has been in her family for over a century, she moved back to Yanceyville. During the 1980s, her family owned and operated a popular cafe, C&G Cafe, on the property. Jean plans to restore the cafe and have it as the cornerstone of the new campsite, which is a five-acre parcel with pond adjacent to the café. Buggs will feature sites Glamping and camping tents. The campground will offer an idyllic get-away for those who want to relax, fish, play games and socialize in the community hall, and sleep under the stars. It will also have a small general store stocked with sundries, basic food items, and fishing tackle and bait. The adjacent cafe will be open for dine-in and takeout service for all our guests as well as the public. Our goal is to create an environment and experience that will create happy family memories like the ones Jean had growing up.
